Perth-based Australian designer Nicola Kovesi was originally trained in textile design. Traveling extensively, she has worked in many fields of fashion and design. In Italy, where she lived for seven years, she worked for the Milanese fashion designer Romeo Gigli, creating hand-dyed fabrics for his collections, which were shown in both Milan and Paris. She has also worked in Florence as a handbag designer, collaborating on collections for Pedro Garcia, Cerruti, Oroton and others. In recent years, Nicola has concentrated on her own collections of eclectic jewellery and clothing, assembled from a treasure trove of vintage flea market finds, and materials from her continued travels. She has sold her capsule collections at ‘Belinda’ in Sydney, ‘Liberty of London’, ‘Trash Couture’ of London and ‘EllE’, in Perth. Her work has appeared in Vogue and Wallpaper magazine.

In 2007 Nicola moved to Bali for three years where she concentrated on her love of photography, and launched her resort accessory sub-brand ‘L’isle Enchantée’ which still sells in Bali today.

During the last 15 years Nicola also worked freelance as head designer for the Australian Bridal house ‘Pallas Couture’. She created mainly their couture collections that were sold not only in Australia, but also at ‘Browns’ of London, and many New York Bridal Weeks. These designs also graced the pages of Australian ‘VOGUE’ and ‘Harper’s Bazaar’, and celebrities such as Delta Goodrum and Theresa Palmer have worn her designs.

Nicola is currently working on her own new textile and jewellery designs, coming soon.
